BBC Worldwide have agreed a deal with Russian broadcaster Amedia TV for Top of the Lake: China Girl, the sequel to the Emmy Award winning Top of the Lake. The six part series will simulcast on Amedia TV via its linear and subscription video on demand service Amediateka from this Thursday.

Salim Mukaddam, Vice President and General Manager of Central and Eastern Europe at BBC Worldwide commented: "I am delighted that Russian audiences will be able enjoy this critically acclaimed drama series at the same time as viewers in the UK through our agreement with Amedia. It's great also to be partnering again with Amedia as we continue to work together bringing local viewers even more of our world class drama productions."

Denis Gorshkov, CEO of Amedia TV commented: "We are happy to expand our deal with BBC Worldwide and to present the second season of Top of the Lake exclusively in Russia. Our audience appreciates premium crime dramas. This is the first BBC show that will be released on Amedia Premium and Amediateka simultaneously with BBC in UK.

Amedia TV have also recently licensed BBC Worldwide premium drama titles Sherlock and War and Peace, in addition to landmark natural history series Planet Earth II and The Hunt.
