CEE Screenings 2025 today presents three brand new series which this season became hits in Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria. The Ranch had a successful first season on JOJ, while Our Father won over the viewers of PRO TV and Nova's big drama production Shattered Bonds was picked up for international distribution by Beta Film.
The Ranch Country: Slovakia, Genre: Family Series, 32x50' Proud Zita Zimanová and her family are trying to save the Ranch and the whole farm where they breed precious horses. The latest series from the pen of successful screenwriter and producer Danica Hričovámining in the family's long disused mines. But the situation complicates as the family of Zita's old rival, Anna "the witch", returns. After the first day of mining, a dangerous secret with dark consequences is revealed in the mines. On top of that, the meeting of Anna's granddaughter Nela with Zita's grandson Ondrej invokes past memories that bring to the surface old secrets of their youth. Our Father Country: Romania, Genre: Action Drama, 13x60' Tatutu comes with an intriguing and never done before concept: the origin story of the central character in Clanul, the most successful drama series in those close to him - the paternal figure known as Tatutu did Bebe Udrea become the ruthless leader known as Macelaru and how did he become – for those close to him - the paternal figure known as Tatutu? Shattered Bonds Country: Bulgaria, Genre: Drama, 6x45' Tackling the issue of youth violence and broken families, the series explores what can happen when young people are left without emotional support. Based on the novel and theatre adaptation "The Mothers" by Theodora Dimova.Six children have been deprived of love in their families but have found it in an unexpected place: their class teacher.
