Antenna Entertainment strengthens portfolio through major U.S. Studio deals
 03 Sep 2025
Antenna Entertainment has successfully closed multiple licensing deals, securing agreements with all major U.S. Studios — Sony Pictures Television, Paramount, Skydance Corporation, NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution, Warner Bros. Discovery, Lionsgate, and Disney Entertainment — across its CEE portfolio. These content packages will deliver current series, returning shows, library titles, evergreen content, and feature films to the VIASAT and AXN family, catering to 18 channels across the region.

Antenna Entertainment continues its strategic development by enhancing its content portfolio. In the past two years, the company has refined its approach to offer compelling acquired and original content tailored to regional audiences. With clearer channel identities and an expanded programming line-up, the company is committed to delivering high-quality entertainment across its 18 channels.

In 2025, Antenna Entertainment further strengthened its position by closing major content licensing deals with all top U.S. studios — Sony Pictures Television, Paramount, Skydance Corporation, NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution, Warner Bros. Discovery, Lionsgate, and Disney Entertainment. These agreements bring a unique mixture of new premiere series, timeless classics, and evergreen favorites to viewers across the region.

The latest deal in line with Sony Pictures Television brings their new success series, the American medical drama, DOC and the six-part British thriller, Red Eye, along with blockbuster movies and library titles.

The Lionsgate deal ensures the first run continuation of the hit series The Rookie, along with non-scripted shows like Yukon Gold and Wicked Tuna, and introduces a movie package to Hungary, Romania and Poland featuring titles such as Kill Bill, Dirty Dancing and The Twilight Saga.

A freshly closed Paramount Global Content Distribution deal brings procedural crime franchises like FBI, NCIS, and Walker to the AXN channels in Poland, Romania, Czechia, Slovakia, and Hungary. Additionally, library titles like CSI, JAG, and Walker, Texas Ranger will be available in selected countries, while Dexter and the re-mastered Beverly Hills, 90210 will arrive on the VIASAT channels in Hungary.

NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution provides evergreen classics like Murder, She Wrote, Magnum, PI and Knight Rider to AXN Black and AXN White in Poland, Romania, Czechia, and Slovakia, with titles varying by territory. Additionally, the drama series Downton Abbey will be coming to Poland.

The deal with Warner Bros. Discovery brings back essential key assets to Viasat3 in Hungary, including Lucifer and Nip/Tuck. The channel will also be the exclusive broadcaster for the fan favorite Gilmore Girls franchise, which is a truly special moment, as both the series and Viasat3 are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year. The package also secures key library titles for the Polish and Romanian AXN channels as well, including Lethal Weapon, ER, and Cold Case.

Antenna Entertainment has also strengthened its collaboration with Disney Entertainment by expanding their volume deals and securing hit titles from across its portfolio; Grey’s Anatomy (Season 3-16) for Hungary, and for Romania, Bones (Season 1-11) and Castle (Season 1-8) for Poland.

“This is a major milestone in our company’s history. In the recent years, we’ve been exploring the right strategic direction, and now the results are visible: viewership and engagement are growing across all markets. With these new acquisitions, we aim not only to maintain but to raise the bar even higher. While our agreements with major U.S. studios bring global appeal, we also actively acquire European content to ensure we reflect local tastes and offer something for everyone. In Hungary, our original productions continue to thrive, and we are constantly seeking out new opportunities to serve each of our markets better,” stated Caroline Hurmson, Senior Director Content Strategy, Acquisition and Sales at Antenna Group.
