ALBANIAParliament adopts resolution on the activity of RTSH for 2024
The Parliament of Albania has adopted the Resolution on the Activity of Albanian Radio and Television (RTSH) for 2024, recognizing RTSH’s efforts in producing quality programming, offering a wide range of projects for different social groups, increasing its audience, and maintaining impartial and balanced news coverage that contributes to public trust.
According to the resolution, RTSH operated 16 television channels and 11 radio channels during 2024, covering over 95% of the country’s territory and about 80% of the population, with diverse programming fulfilling its informative, educational, and entertainment mission. The institution strengthened cultural diversity by broadcasting content in eight minority languages, ensuring equal inclusion of citizens and communities. It also transmitted major international and national sports events, including the Albanian Football Championship, and continued the digitalization of its archives to preserve and modernize audiovisual materials. For 2025, the Parliament requested RTSH to: Prepare and adopt a strategic plan for the restructuring of the public broadcaster, including organizational and budgetary reforms, improvement of programming content, and development of digital technologies. Enhance the “RTSH Kuvend” channel by including informative and explanatory content such as discussions, interviews, and analyses on draft laws under public consultation. Conduct a full financial audit to assess the efficiency of public fund use and submit the analytical report to Parliament. Continue and intensify the digitalization of the institution’s archives.
