Tinatin Berdzenishvili has been appointed Director General of the Georgian Public Broadcaster (GPB) for a second term. Eight members of the Board of Trustees backed her candidacy in an open vote on July 29, 2026.

Tinatin Berdzenishvili is the first GPB Director General to complete a full term in office. During her first term, she introduced a new approach to organizational management and organizational structure. Under her leadership, GPB completed its new headquarters - a landmark project unprecedented in scale and complexity - and launched several new platforms including Georgia's first free streaming service, 1tvplay.ge, and the dedicated sports channel, 1TV Sport.

She said: "The GPB is more than just an organization for me. It is where my professional journey began, and I have grown alongside this Broadcaster for many years. That is why I am honoured to reaffirm my commitment to leading its continued development over the next six years with the same sense of responsibility, dedication, and motivation."
